Week 10 : GENRE

**Posted by dr.dray at 5:37 PM

Hi all Cinemaaa students!

Last week, we looked at the types of main genres, and the sub-genre categories as-well.

Just a note: Remember to only choose ONE main genre when answering a question in the exam. Do NOT put a sub-genre as your answer. Only if it asks you "What is the main genre and sub genre for this film?"

We saw the film Requiem For A Dream, which is a psychological (sub) Drama (main).

This movie used alot of new techniques of filmmaking - including a reverse POV and experimenting with high/low speeds.

Don't forget that your Assignment 2 is due this weekend! Latest submission on Sunday 11:59pm!!

This is also the final week you are watching a movie, as next week we are preparing for your Cinema Exams.

CINEMA EXAM
WEDNESDAY 9th FEB
1.30 - 3.30pm

Don't forget to study!! Or else I will be seeing you again next semester! =] =]

what's the meaning of "experimenting with high/low speeds"?

is it reverse POV means the camera faces to the character?
