Mise-en-scene
This shoot is describe the first time meeting between Charlotte and Harris. Before Harris saw Charlotte in lift, but don't talk with her. This night Harris still can't to sleep so he came to the bar to drinking, the coincidence is Charlotte can't to sleep same as Harris, when she came to the bar she saw Harris is sit there so she sit a seat next Harris. Then Harris use a lines of his advertisement to begin talk with Charlotte.
Setting: The dark bar counter and tables, a bag of cigarette and a cup of wine, cigarette and wine always means alone, the background is blurry night cityscape of Tokyo.
Custume: Harris wear a black jacket and Charlotte wear a black T-shirt.
Colour: In this shot, Harris and Charlotte both wear black clothes, reflect their mood of this days. Since they came to Japan, they are both unhappy and lonely, they don't have a friend to talk can let them happy, they feel themself is out of this city. So the director use the deep colour for the environment around them.
Light: The light of bar is looks dusky, no other customer around Harris and Charlotte, all of this is to show people's mood, And the background is Tokyo's night, it looks very beautiful and interesting, but is not their world, is a very strong contrast.
Sound: There is no background music in this shoot, just dialogue between them. In this scene, they know each other and why to came here.

This shot is describe after two character know each other, they talk about their marriage, Charlotte just married with her husband two years, is not a long time, so she don't have feel some boredom. But Harris already married with his wife 25 years, so he feel weary for this life, he came to Japan want to have a relax, adjust his mood, but he didn't foresee that at here he feel so lonely, so he talk this problem with Charlotte.
Setting: The dark bar counter, a cigarette, the background is blurry night cityscape of Tokyo and from this shot there have some customer, can means their mood have some change, not feel so lonely any more.
Custume: Harris wear a black jacket and Charlotte wear a black T-shirt.
Colour: In this shot, Harris and Charlotte still wear black clothes, means they RE lonely, but since this shot there have some bright colour added by director, like the fire's yellow, waiter's clothes is white, this colour can reflect two character's mood have some improve, because they find a friend can get together.
Light: In this shot the light is a little bit bright than last sense, because two character's mood is better than before, they feel happy to talk with each other.
Sound: There is no background music in this shoot, just dialogue between them. Is talk about their marriage.
