This movie was published in 1960, the director is Alfred Hitchcock. He is one of the famous director in the world. And there were few famous charactors which are Anthony Perkins; Vera Miles; John Gavin; Jane tLeigh ect. This movie is about 109 min, and the most famous part is when Lila Crane steals $40000 from her employer’s and she went away, then she murdered by someone in the barthroom.
After she talk with Norman Bates, the setting are at night’s time, and because is black and white movie so the only way I can think about the colour is dark black through that to make the feeling of fear effect the audiences to think something will be happen, and there are many MS being used. Lila Crane is wearing dress and Norman Bates is wearing shirt. The lighting is a little bit dark because is in night and rainning. At the monment, we can only hear the diegetic sound of she walking into her room and the sound of their talking. After she walk in her room, is a LS to show only Lila Crane in the room, however Norman Bates is looking to her from the hole in the office. At this monment there are silent, because to show the feeling of Norman Bates when he looking to Lila Crane through the hole. When Lila Crane walk in to the bathroom, still slient, then we can hear the diegetic sound of water she start to take the bath, suddently some non- diegetic sound from background, and the feeling of that is fear. And then MS to the murderer and the murderer close to Lila Crane and the most famous part of this movie is this part, Lila Crane murder by someone in the bathroom. And the driector use a lot MS and the purpose of that is try to scare the audience. The setting of that the bathroom is very storng white, very bright colour to outstanding the blood of Lila Crane. The lighting of that use very strong light make the bathroom very white and bright. And the costume of the murderer because the director don’t want to show who is it, so we can’t see the face of the murderer and the murderer is wearing some thing on the head to keep it secret, and Lila Crane wearing nothing because she’s taking bath at the time. The sound of that monment we can hear are diegetic sound and non-diegetic sound together, diegetic sound is Lila Crane struggle and the non- diegetic sound is the backgroung sound to make audience keep attention and scare.
