WEEK 6: ANALYSE, NOT SUMMARISE
Good day CINEMA monsters,
This week, we pretty much talked about your assignment that is due very soon, the Scene Analysis.
Remember: Do NOT write a Scene Review or Scene Summary.
When we analyse something, we deconstruct it to find hidden layers that have a deeper meaning than what we originally believed.
After we talked about Auteur Theory, and also discussed Martin Scorsese a bit.
Then we also noticed his style of filmmaking, which can be present in the Michael Jackson MTV for "BAD", directed by Scorsese in the late 1980's.
PLEASE go to the GOODIES box on the right hand side of the blog and view the sample scene analyses if you still want a better idea on how to write your assignment.
Check the Week 6 Lecture Notes for help as well for the structure of your assignment. Email Dray or Rahul for extra help as well. (Also if you want us to read your work early to let you know how your going)
Happy Writing!
