About Director
Born in Shanghai, he moved to Hong Kong with his parents at the age of five. Coming from the Mainland and speaking only Mandarin and Shanghainese, he had a difficult time adjusting to Cantonese speaking Hong Kong, spending hours in movie theatres with his mother.
After graduating from Hong Kong Polytechnic College in graphic design in 1980, he enrolled in the Production Training Course organized by Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) and became a full-time television screenwriter. In the mid-1980s, he became a screenwriter/director at The Wing Scope Co. and In-gear Film Production Company, the production houses owned by renowned Hong Kong actor /movie producer Alan Tang. Wong’s current nostalgic artsy style took shape during his apprenticeship with Alan Tang Kwong-Wing, who invested in the first movie Wong directed, As Tears Go By (1988). Wong’s career took off when he directed the film Days of Being Wild (1990), despite losing Alan Tang millions of invested dollars.
Wong subsequently graduated to feature film work. He is credited with about ten scripts between 1982 and 1987, covering an array of genres from romantic comedy to action drama, but claims to have worked to some extent or another on about fifty more without official credit. He considers Final Victory a dark comedy/crime story for director Patrick Tam Kar Ming, his best script.

Raincoat, sunglasses, wig seem to have nothing relationship with each other, the raincoat and sunglasses just would not people to see the face and gloss over her identification, also the she worn raincoat just like the movie lines say: I do not know when it start, I became a very careful person,everytime I will wear sunglasses and raincoat, you never know when it will rain, when the sun come out. From these stuff ,I can know she does not want to suffer hurt, which used the raincoat wrapped herself like a hedgehog with sharp thorns. She refused to excessive contact with the outside world in order to avoid injury.

This film is a post-modernist. In this sence,the director used the cool color tone with dark, which means something happened worse. from the another way I can know, she sited on the ground with smoking and putted her body against the wall, also the director used the cool color tone,all the thing are together can make audiences feel her fragile heart and helpless.

Sound is used to add emotion and rhythm to a film.The director used most of ambient sound in this scene,that made the scene slience almost,when the scene was slience,the only sound left footstep in order to reflect another things would happed with music.when she found someone was tracking her and want to kill her.so that she was runing,the background music was coming up lower to higher with ambient sound.for the backgroundmusic,the director used indian song and sound effect,its music indicates excited thing would happen,after she shot a indian,the sound effect came out and speed became faster as they were running.

Monologue occupies most of this film,also in this scene,the only dialogue is that she was thinking alound.From the begining,she was walking in the street,after she sitted and against the wall.she knew something bad woud happened to her.

This scene shot three places,one is underground,other is shopping,last one is platform.In these thress places,the director only used natural light.The purpose of using natural light,i think that made everything is real.

In this scene,there were only one main character and a few indian killers,she attempt to immigrant drup-running,the relationship was always between her and indians.After she failed,she was trying to look for these indians,in the mean time,these indians attempt to kill her.

The editing used a few longer sequences,because the cinema shot by hand-holding,other reason that i think the director want to make audience feel real.
Transitions:
In this scene,the director always used regular jump-cuts,because there were only two events in the scene,one was that she was sitting on the groud,it is not nesessary to use any transitions effect,other was that the indian killers was tracking her,it made real and keep the frame running vibrant.
In the past,i prefer to using transitions effect,because it looks cool that make me feel its effect like a film.
