WEEK 1: COURSE INTRODUCTION
"THE LENGTH OF A FILM SHOULD BE DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE ENDURANCE OF THE HUMAN BLADDER." - Alfred Hitchcock
This week we covered what Cinema is about, and the assessments for this term.
We also discussed the movie of the week, Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock, and went through the themes and motifs present in the film.
To download the PDF version of the lecture slides, check the bottom.
Psycho is still highly celebrated today after 50 years, and here are just some cool lego collectables you can buy off eBay if you really are a fan:
Next week we are viewing Memento, directed by Christopher Nolan. For tutorial in Week 2, it is all about Narratives, so make sure you attend because it is important!
If you guys find anything interesting that is related to this course, or any movies you want to write about, feel free to post it up!!!
I check the blog every night before I sleep... *cough* ... Ok well I do quite often =P
Also if you have any questions about what we covered in Week 1, or if you didn't understand something, please comment this post.
